Set in Massachusetts in the spring of 1920, “Salvation is Within You!” follows Salieri, a widowed cobbler, and his working-age sons, Renzi and Matteo. While Renzi and Matteo plot to set off a bomb during negotiations between their union and the government, federal agents are ordered to clamp down on the Italian American immigrant community.

“Salvation is Within You!” explores the changing nature of labor in America, the lure of propaganda and radical ideology, and the formation of a burgeoning Italian American identity — all told through the lens of a single immigrant family and their troubles.
